   Interesting, I wonder how many people have to convert their friends into fans of their “page” and then trim their friends list down.

   It’s hard to keep in touch with 5000 friends. So after a while, you can remove a friend. You can always become a friend again. And yes, you can also start a fan page, but people like friends more.

   It is so simple! Create another account and send messages to all incoming friend requests to add you on the other profile. Or you could simply add them. In a fan page, it is highly impossible with the friends, only wall posts can be done. So, creating another account would be the best idea.

   This sounds like a great idea if you have more than 5,000 friends to create another account and add those friends but what if you have 1,000 friends requests? That’s what I have. It would take me forever to individually email 1,000 people to tell them one account is full and add me at the other…

   hey just unblock your account so that anyone can view your profile then then someone adds you let it sit in pending and you can just click and communicate that way rather then add

   they are taking the limit off soon once servers are implemented

   stu jones – can you point me to a trusted site that says the limit will be removed? I have 4200 friends right now and would love to know that the limit won’t affect me. thanks!

   Mike about the letting people sit in pending thing…

   When you try to add someone with more than 5000 friends as a friend, you get an error saying “user has too many friends” and you can not send them a friend request.

   Furthermore, let’s say you stop short of that (like 4950 friends) and do not accept any more to avoid that error. (actually I saw one person with 5001, maybe a glitch..)

   There is also something you can get called “user has too many friend requests”

   I do not know what the limit is. Trusting Voltaire’s testimony, I guess it’s pretty high, but let’s say even if it was 2k, that means people will reach that eventually.

    About the people with 5001 or more friends; only reason behind this I can think of, is that the person had a friend with an deactivated account when he reached the limit, after that the friend activated it again and automatically appeared back in his friends list, albeit as number 5001.

    You can now convert a Facebook profile to a business page. I think this is the best option when you reach 5000 friends limit. However I just came across a Facebook profile with 5002 friends! I don’t know how is this possible!

    What I did was create a group page for my business and link it to my own personal page. Now i can be able to add people to either or. You can too open a group page for any kind of group you do. Either for business or recreational.
