Heidi Klum on “Models have an expiration date.”

In the most recent edition of Instyle Magazine Heidi Klum admitted, “like food, models spoil with age,” and “they have a sell by date.” Not earthshattering news from the 36 year old mother of 4 who has remained queen of the modeling industry for years now, but interesting to know that she is on top and has done so with style and grace. Heidi recently changed her last name to Samuel to honor her husband Seal.

Heidi blasted off from supermodel status to being a permanent icon in the modeling stratosphere with her hit reality show Project Runway. There she is a host, guest judge and executive producer. Project Runway airs on Thursdays and has switched networks from Bravo to Lifetime.

Forbes Magazine estimates Heidi’s income at 16 million dollars annually. Doesn’t look like Heidi will expire anytime soon.

Project Runway season 4 winner Christian Siriano is coming back to tv. Christian made us laugh with his colorful words like “fierce” and “hot tranny mess.” He will reappear on Bravo in a show called, Christian Siriano: Having A Moment, on April 5th at 10 p.m. The New York Post reports that we will watch Christian navigate fashion week, fit celebrity clients for the Emmys and create new designs.

Oh, my gawsh! Christian! I just can’t wait!!! So, oh my gawsh. I think I am going to cry. ; ) He’s just so fierce!

Project Runway Launched On The Wii

Project Runway has just launched on the Wii challenging its players (it’s target market is 6 to 12 year old girls and other fans of the show) to become virtual fashion designers. “Fashion is becoming one of the most powerful motivators for the teen and tween audiences,” claims Johnathan Anastas, an Atari vice-president who developed the game. “At the very least, we are giving an authentic expression of the runway experience.”

Heidi Klum gives it a thums up saying, “I liked it very much. I thought it was very chic.”

Chic or no you can make that decision for yourself. It was released this week for the Wii system. Who knows, it may even improve your catwalk.

Gisele Bundchen Is The World’s Highest Paid Model (Video)

The fashion industry has a reputation for pushing boundaries but recently it has been more known to play it safe.

Partially because of the recession and parially because of media advertising slumps clients have become notorious penny pinchers and very reluctant to work with new models.

Even Victoria’s Secret who is known for discovering beauties and launching their careers has not hired a new Angel since two years ago when it hired Holland’s Doutzen Kroes to join the lineup.

“Companies want to know that if they’re putting money behind a talent that she is recession-proof,” says Ivan Bart, senior vice president and managing director of ING Models, which represents model superstars such as Gisele Bündchen and Heidi Klum.

“We find that the experienced models continue to earn well.”

When companies do buy ads, they reserve the space for their proven talent. “With the exception of the top 20 girls, there’s less work and less money,” says Edward Razek, chief marketing officer for Limited Brands — Victoria’s Secret’s parent company.

Despite tough times superstars Gisele Bundchen and Heidi Klum went on to lead the list of top earners for 2010. The top earner is Gisele Bundchen making nearly 25 million dollars modeling for True Religion Jeans, D & G, Ipanema (her own sandals line) among other clients.

Heidi Klum is the second highest earning model. She is in her seventh season of Project Runway and her earnings boast nearly 16 million annually.

Kate Moss comes in third place with a reported nine million for the 36 year old superstar.
