Tyra Banks Wears Cut Up Stockings On Her Face To French Vogue Party (Pics)
Tyra Banks Wears Cut Up Stockings On Her Face To French Vogue Party (Pics)
Dunno what to say about this one except Tyra Banks latest fashion statement left quite an impression – on her face.
At the French Vogue 90th anniversary party (yes I said 90th) supermodel Tyra Banks wanted to wear something very special. The former Victoria’s Secret Angel donned a mask on her face made of cut up stockings. On Tyra’s twitter page she asked her followers, “Guess how I made this French Vogue party mask? It’s homemade. How did I do it though? Guess? It was super cheap.”
Her followers made several guesses thinking it was perhaps a hairnet, curtains, underwear and a wig cap to name a few. Tyra finally alleviated the suspense and announced, “So French Vogue mask is sum cheap fishnet stockings I got n crazy store in Paris! I cut em up and made it y’all. N did my own hair and makeup.”
Other attendees included Alessandria Ambrosio, Gisele Bundchen, Lara Stone, Natalia Vodianova and Kate Moss in a Darth Vader Halloween mask. (Kidding.) But you know if she did it would be all the rage.
I have to wonder if one of her contestants on America’s Next Top Model did the same thing how quickly they would be out of the door?

Kate Moss and Mario Testino: A $475.00 Book Collaboration
Supermodel Kate Moss and famed fashion photographer Mario Testino are collaborating on a book project due out this summer entitled: Kate Moss By Mario Testino.
Moss and Testino have collaborated numerous times for covers and editorials for many magazines. There will be a limited run of $1500.00 copies which will be signed, packaged and distributed.
But, before you run down to your local bookstore to satiate your obsession with Kate Moss keep in mind that the book will set you back $350 euros or $472.00 U.S. That may be more money than the coffee table your book is sitting on.

Kate Moss Orders A Smoking Zone
Kate Moss Orders A Smoking Zone
Kate Moss is due to appear in a high end department store later this month to launch her new handbag line for Longchamp.
According to sources Kate has demanded a special smoking section equipped with pillows, heaters, candles, couches and other comforts for her and her friends. A source says Longchamp is not exactly pleased with this as they would like Kate to mingle with their guests instead of hiding out with her VIP entourage.
“It’s Kate Moss,” says the source. “She can ask for whatever she likes and they will probably bend over and give it to her.”
There have been claims that Kate makes her personal assistant put a pack of Marlboro Lights on every table in her home in case she needs a quick fix.
Somebody better tell her that smoking isn’t good for her. Just in case she doesn’t know.

Goodbye Celebrities, Hello Fashion Models – Voltaire Fashion News
Goodbye Celebrities, Hello Fashion Models – Voltaire Fashion News

According to WWD Magazine, fashion designers have grown weary of using “overexposed” celebrities in their advertising campaigns.
Gucci, Yves Saint-Laurent and Chanel are all turning to fashion models for their fall/winter campaigns. Frida Gianni at Gucci says, “The other issue with celebrities is that they are characters who are often associated with a certain film. I prefer a strong, generic face that’s not related to any world — whether that be music or Hollywood.”
It is rumored that Eva Mendes may be replaced at Calvin Klein and also known that Lara Stone replaced Madonna for Louis Vuitton’s spring/summer campaign (who may feature Christy Turlington, Karen Elson and Natalia Vodianova this winter according to reports.)
St. John had Angelina Jolie at the heart of recent campaigns but followed up with catwalk star Karen Elson. “We wanted to make a clean break from actresses… and cleanse the palette,” St. John CEO Glenn McMahon told WWD.
While it is true models will get more exposure celebrities will always maintain a strong foothold in the world of fashion. May mags are celebrity heavy this year in the fashion world and models like Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss gracing covers are celebrities in their own right.
Who do you prefer to see in mags? Celebs or models? Leave a comment to let us know!

Gisele Bundchen Is The World’s Highest Paid Model (Video)
Gisele Bundchen Is The World’s Highest Paid Model (Video)

The fashion industry has a reputation for pushing boundaries but recently it has been more known to play it safe.
Partially because of the recession and parially because of media advertising slumps clients have become notorious penny pinchers and very reluctant to work with new models.
Even Victoria’s Secret who is known for discovering beauties and launching their careers has not hired a new Angel since two years ago when it hired Holland’s Doutzen Kroes to join the lineup.
“Companies want to know that if they’re putting money behind a talent that she is recession-proof,” says Ivan Bart, senior vice president and managing director of ING Models, which represents model superstars such as Gisele Bündchen and Heidi Klum.
“We find that the experienced models continue to earn well.”
When companies do buy ads, they reserve the space for their proven talent. “With the exception of the top 20 girls, there’s less work and less money,” says Edward Razek, chief marketing officer for Limited Brands — Victoria’s Secret’s parent company.
Despite tough times superstars Gisele Bundchen and Heidi Klum went on to lead the list of top earners for 2010. The top earner is Gisele Bundchen making nearly 25 million dollars modeling for True Religion Jeans, D & G, Ipanema (her own sandals line) among other clients.
Heidi Klum is the second highest earning model. She is in her seventh season of Project Runway and her earnings boast nearly 16 million annually.
Kate Moss comes in third place with a reported nine million for the 36 year old superstar.
