I had to do a double take at the grocery store when I saw this one. Jessica Simpson is on the cover of Marie Claire which claims, “no makeup, no retouching.” Pretty strong claim to make in todays world of super-retouched glossies. Here is the cover and an inside shot.

Jessica Simpson has a new television show called, “The Price Of Beauty.” For those of you who haven’t heard of it, Jessica travels the world to interview women who have gone through extreme measures to meet what they believe are the standards of beauty in society.

Last year Jessica was bombarded by the media after photos of her in concert suggested she may be overweight.

Her friend, hairstylist Ken Paves says, “Imagine if the whole world is talking about you. She still followed through, never stopped and nobody ever said, ‘That’s a strong girl, that’s a brave girl.’ I was disappointed.”

The goal of the VH1 show is to empower women and show that no one is perfect. Not even celebrities.
