Polina Porizkova and Crystal Renn Show Us Their Bodies (Photo)

Yesterday at Glamour Magazine’s Woman of the Year party, Polina Porizkova and Crystal Renn had a little to say and show us about body image. Polina who was one of the most famous supermodels of the 1980′s interrupted Crystal mid-sentence saying, “Excuse me, I have to do this. “Crystal, can the two of us stand up next to each other for a moment, so that the audience can see us?” Renn agreed and the two stood shoulder-to-shoulder. “I’m pretty much the same size now that I was in the eighties, when I was actually modeling, and I was known for doing bathing suits,” explained Porizkova, who if anything looked larger than Renn once they stood side by side. “Here’s Crystal, a plus-size model,” she said, gesturing toward Renn. “This is a plus-size model in 2010. This [she pointed to herself] is an average-size model in 1980. Times have changed.”

Recently supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio was pictured with models Crystal Renn and Brooklyn Decker. The press had a field day picking apart her weight. Alessandra was reluctant to respond to this fiasco (rightfully so) but has since spoke about it in WWD.

“I have been tiny since I was four an I eat whatever I want,” says Ale. “If I’m two pounds heavier, I’m fat. If I’m skinnier, I’m sick. It’s ridiculous,” she said. “And that’s not coming from agents or designers,” she says.

Alessandra’s preferred methods of working out include: pilates, yoga and running and working out with NYC fitness expert Leandro Carvalho, creator of The Brazilian Butt Lift.
