According to WWD Magazine, fashion designers have grown weary of using “overexposed” celebrities in their advertising campaigns.

Gucci, Yves Saint-Laurent and Chanel are all turning to fashion models for their fall/winter campaigns. Frida Gianni at Gucci says, “The other issue with celebrities is that they are characters who are often associated with a certain film. I prefer a strong, generic face that’s not related to any world — whether that be music or Hollywood.”

It is rumored that Eva Mendes may be replaced at Calvin Klein and also known that Lara Stone replaced Madonna for Louis Vuitton’s spring/summer campaign (who may feature Christy Turlington, Karen Elson and Natalia Vodianova this winter according to reports.)

St. John had Angelina Jolie at the heart of recent campaigns but followed up with catwalk star Karen Elson. “We wanted to make a clean break from actresses… and cleanse the palette,” St. John CEO Glenn McMahon told WWD.

While it is true models will get more exposure celebrities will always maintain a strong foothold in the world of fashion. May mags are celebrity heavy this year in the fashion world and models like Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss gracing covers are celebrities in their own right.

Male Model Releases New Dance Single ‘Showtime’ (Video)

Male model Baptiste Giabiconi’s long awaited dance single has been released after long anticipation from many. I like the sound! Great job Baptiste. Here is what we think the chorus says.

It’s show time, turn it up, gonna see me shine.
I won’t stop, I’m the one hovering in the light.
It’s go time, starting right now.
Watch me take a bow.
It’s so hard living life standing in the light.
I won’t drop ’til I get to the finish line.
It’s go time, starting right now.
Watch me take a bow.

What do you think?

Baptiste is currently taking acting classes and has his heart set on Hollywood. He was discovered working out in his local gym in the south of France. Baptiste thinks of his newfound career as “a dream.”
