Getting to number one in Google is much easier than you might think. If this were a post on Dwerps and you were to google the term Dwerps you would see that at the time of this writing I would be listed as number 1. Go ahead and google Dwerps now and see if i’m there. The trick is how do you get to number one in the category you want to be found in.
1. Your title is everything. Say you are blogging about your trip to Africa. If you title your blog My trip to Africa, no one is going to find it. Make the title more specific. A better title is “African Safari in Senegal.” Now you are talking about specifically where your Safari took place and what you were doing in Africa. Now people thinking of going to Africa on Safari in Senegal will come across your blog and it will get more traffic.
2. Include a lot of text in your blog or website. Google is very fond of text. If your landing page has just a few words written on it then it may appear to Google that the page is not important. That is not an easy way to get to number one on Google.
3. Make sure your content is unique and specific to what it is you are known for. If you are selling photo equipment then you should talk about photo equipment on your website. Google cannot read pictures so for a photographic website or a website that has a lot of pictures on it you will need to include a lot of text.
Getting to number one is easy on Google. Getting to number one on Google in the category you want is a little harder. Think about the titles of what your posting and then go after your target audience. You will have to have a lot of content and many posts to drive a lot of traffic to your blog or website. Start writing now. You may get there faster than you think.
